日本のプラチナ
プラチナの最大の産出国は南アフリカ共和国とロシアだと言われています。
地質的な条件は、これらの国とは大幅に違いますが、
プラチナは日本でも見つかっています。
北見の枝幸砂金地帯では、直径6mm、重さ0.64ｇのプラチナの粉が
見つかっており、一時、採掘のための企業化が計画されたそうです。
砂プラチナは北海道の他にも新潟県でも見つかっています。
最も一般的なプラチナ合金は、プラチナ900です。
このプラチナ900の代表的な合金は、プラチナ90％に
10％のパラジウムを加えた合金です。
プラチナは金と比べて硬さが柔らかいので加工やデザインがしやすい素材です。
プラチナでリング、ブローチなどを作る際には
ほとんどがプラチナ900という配合を使用されています。
プラチナの特徴は
プラチナは白い色と輝きをもつ貴金属です。
同じ白でも、シルバーと比べると重みのある、落ち着いた白い色が特徴です。
プラチナはレアメタルと呼ばれる希少金属の一つです。
金と比べても採掘量が年間20分の1程度で、希少性の高い貴金属です。

The amount of mining is about 1/20 a year of that of gold ,
It is a highly rare precious metal.
